Christian Braun has agreed to a five-year, $125 million contract extension with the Denver Nuggets, according to Shams Charania of ESPN.
Selected 21st overall in the 2022 NBA Draft, Braun has emerged as a standout developmental success for the Nuggets. Executives Ben Tenzer and Jon Wallace made it a top priority to reach a long-term agreement that secures him as a key piece of Denver’s future core.
Braun stepped into a full-time starting role last season and broke out with career highs across every major category, averaging 15.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.6 assists. Appearing in 79 games (77 starts), he nearly doubled his scoring average from 7.3 points in 2023-24.
Braun is the first player to surpass 400 fast-break points in a season since Buddy Hield in 2018-19.
Braun’s development has been crucial in complementing MVP candidate Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, Aaron Gordon, and the team’s latest acquisition Cam Johnson.
