The New York Knicks have called several teams to gauge interest in Pacome Dadiet, according to Jake Fischer.
In order to keep both Malcolm Brogdon and Landry Shamet on their Opening Night roster, the Knicks need to make a trade. The trade chatter has mainly centered around Dadiet after the team added both veterans on Exhibit 9 contracts.
Dadiet has impressed behind the scenes this summer, making it more difficult for New York to consider moving him.
Dadiet has shown some promising defensive flashes in limited minutes, while his three-point shooting has yet to translate at either the NBA or G League level.
As a rookie last season, Dadiet appeared in 18 games, averaging 1.7 points and 1.0 rebounds while shooting 32% from both the field and three.
In G League play with the Westchester Knicks, Dadiet averaged 12.3 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.9 assists over nine Tip-Off Tournament games. In regular-season action, he boosted his production to 14.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.6 assists.
The Knicks then started Dadiet against the Philadelphia 76ers in the first of two preseason games in Abu Dhabi. Several teams expressed their belief that New York’s decision was meant to showcase him to potential trade partners.
The Knicks selected Dadiet with the 25th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.
New York signed Dadiet to a four-year standard deal last year. He earned $1.8 million as a rookie and is slated to earn $2.8 million in his second season. The Knicks have until Oct. 31 to decide on his team option for the 2026-27 season.
